How AXIOM and Forge work, in plain terms.
The short version of the model behind every Space — a conversation becomes Structure, the Structure synthesizes into a Constitution, and the Constitution produces Surfaces you can use.
- What is AXIOM?
- AXIOM is an intelligence layer that preserves the structures that matter from AI-assisted reasoning. AI helps generate the reasoning; AXIOM helps you preserve, refine, govern, and build upon the structures behind it — so important thinking survives and improves over time instead of disappearing when the chat ends.
- What is Forge?
- Forge is the user-facing tool powered by AXIOM. It’s where you work with those structures inside Spaces: converse, bring in your own files and sources as context, save what matters, inspect what shaped an answer, and turn reasoning into Surfaces and outcomes. Open it any time with Open Forge.
- What is a Space?
- A Space is where reasoning accumulates around one thing. Every Space follows the same chain — Conversation, then Structure, then Constitution, then Surface. The domain changes from one Space to the next; the engine doesn’t.
- What is Structure?
- Structure is what gets preserved from a conversation — its durable part. It holds Core, Principles, Decisions, Tensions, and History.
- What is Core?
- Core defines what a Space is and what it’s trying to become: Mission, Purpose, Thesis, Values, Scope, and Identity. It’s the most stable layer — it changes less often than Principles or Decisions.
- What is a Constitution?
- A Constitution is the synthesized expression of a Space’s Structure — generated from its Core, Principles, Decisions, Tensions, and History into one view you read first. Different Spaces display it under different labels — a Company Constitution, a Covenant, a Charter, a Framework, a Playbook — but the underlying concept is the same.
- What is a Surface?
- A Surface is what the reasoning produces — a dashboard, a plan, a roadmap, a website, an operating system, software. It’s the usable outcome of everything held in a Space.
- What are Reasoning Preferences?
- Reasoning Preferences shape how conversations reason inside a Space — for example, challenge my assumptions, surface tradeoffs, show alternatives, or explain the reasoning. They influence how answers are produced, but they aren’t part of a Space’s durable Structure.
- Why use multiple models?
- ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and the models that follow often see different things. The goal isn’t to crown a winner — it’s to improve the reasoning before its structure is preserved.
- How is this different from ChatGPT?
- ChatGPT helps generate reasoning. AXIOM helps preserve the structures that matter from it. The value isn’t another conversation — it’s that important reasoning can survive, improve, and stay inspectable over time.
- Can I create my own Space?
- Yes. Create a Space and start a conversation — the Structure emerges as you use it. Nothing has to be built up front.
- What can I build?
- A company constitution, a family operating system, a relationship covenant, an investment framework, a product playbook, a roadmap, software — or something entirely your own.
